MY APOLOGIES TO THOSE WHO HAD BEEN UNABLE TO ACCESS THIS PAGE! I had a minor crash when I transferred webhosts which destroyed 80% of the links and pages. This was one of them but until someone let me know I had no idea. SO: THE CD CONTAINS: O'Neill's Music Of Ireland (the 1850) Allan's Irish Fiddler and The Complete Music of Turlough O'Carolan MORE INFORMATION HERE Bonuses: A collection of Madrigals from the 16th & 17th Centuries The Complete "Catch Club, or The Merry Companions" Ancillary programmes and instructions. While the CD itself IS a copyrighted work (that is, the arrangement of tunes and the work of compiling them into the different formats), I want to stress that: All TUNES/SONGS in the collection are PUBLIC DOMAIN and may be used for performance without payment of any additional fees or royalties. This question comes up quite frequently: they should be listed as "Traditional Music" when queried by a recording company or if you are asked if you have permission to perform them. Play the music and I love ya. Copy my disc for sale and I come after ya. Simple rules from a simpleton. Old Music Project is supported solely by Frayed Knot Arts and by a few individuals (like you) who have decided that the site is worth keeping around and who are generously financing the web-space for it by purchasing a copy of the work. Thank You! PLEASE NOTE! THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO CD... STICKING IT IN YOUR CD PLAYER IS FRUITLESS! YOU NEED A PC/MAC RUNNING WINDOWS OR AN OLDER MAC USING A WINDOWS EMULATOR! I got a rather quizzical email from someone who got the CD and "can't get it to play". Well, it WON'T shaggin' "play", then, will it? (sigh.) They're computer files. Not audio files. How in the name of All that's Holy could I get nearly 2500 tunes on ONE CD if they were even mp3's? ................................................................... The tunes are in the following formats: NWC (Noteworthy Composer) format with a free reader/player; (This feature unavailable for older MAC OS users without "Soft Windows" or "Virtual PC" installed) ABC format with a free reader/player; (Older MAC OS users should go to http://abcnotation.com/ for MAC translators) GIF format pictures of the sheet music and a link to a free image viewing program; (for PC's.... MAC has it's own picture rendering software built-in.) MIDI format which will play with your Windows Media Player or in WinAmp, RealPlayer or most other PC sound formats and on MACs via Quicktime. A full index of all tunes in O'Neill's, Allan's and O'Carolans in a searchable Excel File (with free Excel reader) Cost is $58.00 USD (ppd incl. tax) anywhere in the world. AS AN ALTERNATIVE! $45.00 USD Click the button below and I will set up a download page where you can simply download the contents of the CD without submitting to the vagaries of mail/shipping, as well as saving yourself $13.00 AND getting the files immediately. Or EMAIL me for instructions for checque or Money Order payments. |
