Perldog,
a week ago I did exactly that, and said directly to her that I felt she
was doing damage to the Bolger legacy. The response? I won't repeat it,
but I'm sure anyone who has read this thread can guess. I put her on
Ignore after that.

Re: Should this Forum have a dedicated Wooden Working Craft category ?
So much excitement and still no engagement on the substance for how many posts now.
So much threat perceived to the 'slippers & monocle' club Phil and I had no interest in seeing open up; Phil never did join that mindset. It would be good for all who opine, to read everything posted: - You might have noticed that living in this working seaport, this subject has kept Phil and myself preoccupied in a progressively focussed manner since summer of 2002 as draconian regulation were beginning to threaten the working waterfront. - You might have noticed energy-related concerns mounting. - You might have a perspective on the future of wooden working craft... - You might have an interest to consider defending the working waterfront in support of your own boating interests. And for those who just can't bring themselves to think this issue through, submit your energies to other Threads in no doubt urgent need of your sage counsel. As to my work-load - versus your work-load - versus what needs doing - versus what should have been done a good while back - versus what you'd sure never feel like contemplating doing, - versus what you might not have any angle of approaching it, get on with your own project and shine brightly - or talk, then chat, then crack jokes, then think about the next 'urgent' submission etc. etc. etc. For some the building-site rent bill will end up more than the project might be worth... Considering this Thread's substance might have been a productive use of your time - and a serious sign of appreciation of one of Phil Bolger's last great projects. In light of the sympathetic heart-flutter syndrome so repeatedly presented here in this group, the Surgeon General has asked me to not send you folks over the edge with the other ones... big ones. Crocodile tears (particularly sticky secretions those), - sniffling with frustration as even your best wit arrives without fizz, - perpetual Group-Hug reflexes, - very limited input-willingness due to either plain&persistent incomprehension or just stout 'Flat Earth'-convictions, - no answers to even the plainest of questions - such as lateral-plane issues posted well over 30 submissions ago... none of this stuff looks good in any light; hence the accelerating frenetics. And yet 'y'all' keep coming back to proudly strut - for each other - mothball-eaten plumage that nobody is interested in seeing or hearing 'tall tales' about. The drama-to-modest progress ratio here reflects a level of alarm in 'da club' not seen since they allowed... whom (!!!) ... to do what ??? Since this Thread started long ago enough to rule out any 'cyclic' intervening phenomena, what remains is just the image of a group-picture - in sepia no doubt - full of various expressions of badly disturbed faces, struck a bit too vividly by startling 'intrusions' of clearly unheard/un-thought-of realities that might lurking be 'outside somewhere'. Indeed they are. And they won't go away - ever... Boo! Fellas, I suggest you avert your eyes, and organize a Group-Hug under the full moon tonight, do some drumming... But don't look for Erster, as he becomes invisible by closing his eyes... all the way... |
Re: Should this Forum have a dedicated Wooden Working Craft category ?
So, as the dust settles, to those who remain:
If you understand this Thread reflecting Phil Bolger & Friends Inc. spending 1800+pro bono hrs on this and related issues before he died, with him writing on it, cajoling and conversing with 100+ Fishers, dozens and dozens of other stake-holders, our Mayors, publicly testifying here in town, regionally, sitting down with our Congressman, then there remains the standing proposition of this Thread, with additional 'tomes' accessible to further flesh out our evolving thinking since mid 2002. The opportunity remains wide open. As will these Threads ! |
